What’s been happening:

Spent 23 years in the Air Force as a Nuclear Research Officer & Program Manager for a variety of advanced nuclear energy projects/systems for missile, space, and remote terrestrial applications. Served as Director, Research & Engineering, and General Manager, New Mexico Operations, for Oakton International Corp. for 3 years. Then started Sholtis Engineering & Safety Consulting in 1996; providing expert nuclear, aerospace, and systems engineering/safety technical support services to Federal & State government, national laboratories, academia, and the nuclear & aerospace industrial communities. Participated in the Presidential safety review & launch approval for every U.S nuclear-powered space mission since 1974, i.e., Viking I & II, Lincoln Experimental Satellites 8 & 9, Voyager I & II, Galileo, Ulysses, Mars Pathfinder, Cassini, Mars Exploration Rovers A & B, New Horizons--Pluto, and the planned 2011 Mars Science Laboratory rover mission. Former USNRC Licensed Senior Reactor Operator with 2000+ hours of console time & 100+ pulse operations. Biographee in "Who's Who in Engineering" and "Who's Who in America."
